In 2013, the Center contracted with Penn State Harrisburg’s Institute of State and Regional Affairs to conduct population projections for the commonwealth and its 67 counties for 2010 to 2040.

Population projection data, used in conjunction with other population data, are useful to public and private agencies for policy development, project planning, and program evaluation.

The Pennsylvania population projections completed for the Center are for the years 2015, 2020, 2025, 2030, 2035, and 2040, and were developed by 5-year age and gender cohorts.
